History of Class Rings

In 1835, at the United States Military Academy, West Point, each graduating class worked together to design their own class rings. In 1869, a committee was established to create a single design that would bring some uniformity to all West Point graduates' rings. Although the design has been enhanced overtime, West Point's official class ring and ceremony has remained an honored tradition.

Today, this tradition has grown and now flourishes in high schools across the nation. Students throughout the country have adopted the class ring as their way of capturing the memories and achievements of their unique high school experiences. Class rings have evolved into a modernized celebration of you and your high school history.
